tl;dr: register to play, get t-shirt, post selfies, win belt.

What is #pokgotv? - A fun, free, family-friendly, but fierce contest to play while you try to catch them all.

How do I play? - By taking and posting selfies on Instagram and Facebook (see official rules below).

What do I win? - The team leader with the most points wins the championship belt.

Do I have to register? Only if you want to earn points or get a free t-shirt. Registration is optional. Check out our privacy policy.

Who is APCA? We are a non-profit organization based in Phoenix, AZ. Learn more here: www.apcaaz.org.

What does GOTV mean? - GOTV means "get out the vote". And you know what PokémonGo is…

When does the contest start? - #pokgotv starts on 27 September 2016 and ends on 7 October 2016.

Why 27 September 2016? - Because that is National Voter Registration Day. We think it should be a national holiday.

Can I register to vote online? Yes, you can! Use our multi-lingual voter registration tool located here (select "Asian Pacific Community in Action APCA" from the pulldown menu): http://www.aapcho.org/register-to-vote/

Why is APCA doing this? - #pokgotv is a nonpartisan multilingual voter registration campaign focused on Arizona's Asian American, Pacific Islander and other emerging communities. AAPIs are the fastest-growing racial group in the United States and are an increasingly influential part of the electorate. Despite this, AAPIs continue to face barriers to vote. In 2013, only 60 percent of eligible Asian Americans nationally were registered to vote due to voter registration obstacles including little or no language assistance, a lack of outreach from political parties, and regressive voter ID laws that discourage AAPI voters.

How can I support APCA? - You may make a tax-deductible donation here: http://bit.ly/supportapca2016.
